Paraphrasing and plagiarism
Credit the source of borrowed ideas, even when you explain them in your own words. A paraphrase changes both wording and sentence structure while preserving meaning; substituting a few synonyms is not sufficient.
Mark exact wording as a quotation and provide a citation and locator. Keep source notes separate from your draft so copied phrases do not accidentally become your own prose. Follow institutional policies when reusing your previously submitted work.
