Inference uses sample information and a model to estimate population quantities or evaluate hypotheses. State the population, sampling process, and assumptions that support any generalization.
Report an effect estimate with its uncertainty. A frequentist 95% confidence procedure covers the fixed true parameter in 95% of repetitions under its assumptions; it does not assign a 95% probability to that parameter after the particular interval has been computed.
